Salary: £25.02 per hour

We are AMS. Our Contingent Workforce Solutions (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of our clients’ recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.

Our client is a globally respected engineering organisation, providing white collar, Blue collar and engineering services to many sectors including energy, aerospace, marine and defence.

We are currently looking for 50 Fitters to be based at our client’s Derby site, these roles are available on initial 12 month contracts.

*Suitable candidates MUST have served a recognised technical engineering or craft apprenticeship, any candidates without a time served apprenticeship WILL NOT be considered*

The role will be responsible for carrying out manufacturing and test tasks within the mechanical department, in accordance with product certification procedures, defined workmanship standards, allocated budgets and timescales to meet project objectives

Hours of work and shifts – 38 Hours Per Week – 5 days = Shift Pattern: 3 Shift = The roles are based on a 3 shift weekly rotating pattern of Morning, Nights and Afternoons, Monday to Friday, 6-2 / 2-9 / 9-6

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Fitting of engine components and/or modules as directed by engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Raising non-conformance issues
  • Working to set deadlines to achieve performance targets and Customer delivery commitments
  • Working in a compliant manner to ensure that products are built to the correct technical and quality specifications
  • Participating in continual review and improvement processes for the business to identify best practice
  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment is maintained in the workplace

Candidate skillset / Qualifications:

Essential

· It is essential that candidates possess a recognised time-served apprenticeship within a Mechanical Engineering discipline, at either City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3, and BTEC national or equivalent qualification

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience in using a variety of engineering equipment and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply instructions correctly to achieve required product quality
  • Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate relevant fitting experience of engine components
  • Manual handling essential due to the nature of the job
  • Comfortable working at height
  • Knowledge of quality tools, systems and procedures

Individuals to have completed a time-served Apprenticeship in a relevant engineering discipline, and they will need to provide copies of their apprenticeship paperwork at interview stage.
