An exciting opportunity has arisen within a prestigious UK based technical manufacturing company within the inkjet industry.
The purpose of this position is to deliver all aspects of the printhead actuator of thin film piezo products meeting quality, cost and delivery objectives. To optimise the print performance (in the short term) of thin film piezo products by adjusting operation parameters and algorithms.

Duties and responsibilities include
• Accountable for the quality, correctness, completeness, timeliness and fitness for purpose of the group’s work and deliverable
• Reviews product plans and requirements with relevant Technical Lead/ Architect and ensures the group is prepared to deliver working solutions for new products
• Works with Programme Managers to ensure that detailed plans for NPD subprojects are created and successfully integrated with the overall programme plan
• Provides suitably experienced and competent resources to NPD programme teams
• Develops the capability of the group at the leading edge of relevant expertise, knowledge, processes, tools, methods and competitive intelligence. Ensuring the team creates and captures knowledge in an organised way
• Coaching, mentoring and assisting members to deliver the highest possible standard of work in all types of project
• Managing staff performance and professional development
• Recruitment
• Applying technical expertise to projects and reviewing, planning and management of projects
• Creation and maintenance of function roadmap
• Proactively ensuring the H&S Management System is fully followed
• Identification of opportunities to create relevant protectable IP

Skills and Attributes:
• Degree Qualified within a Mechanical Engineering Subject
• A significant amount of experience in engineering new products
• A solid background within design, simulation and development of related products of which a significant proportion must be within the field of fluid mechanics or thin film piezo MEMs
• Experience with thin film Piezo Si MEMs is also required
