Small and friendly Chartered Accountants are looking to expand and recruit a new Accounts Trainee/ Semi Senior. The firm offers accountancy, tax and advisory services for clients throughout Kent, Sussex and the South East of England, including individuals, sole traders, partnerships, small and medium-sized businesses and charities.

The role will involve accounts prep, book-keeping, solicitor’s audits, personal tax and corporate tax, PAYE and ad hoc general practice work. The firms client portfolio ranges from small tax returns to larger accounts jobs, most of the accounts work is small limited companies, sole traders, partnerships and LLPs, mostly one man bands, with a few larger clients around £2 – £3Mil turnover. Reporting to the Partner/ Manager, who will look after the more complex tax planning work and ad hoc projects, they would require your assistance with tax returns.

You must have at least 18 months experience working in a firm of accountants, and be an AAT trainee or qualified by experience. Study support for AAT evening college attendance is available and for the right candidate, future ACA/ ACCA study support and training is on offer.

The firm offers a relaxed working environment in an open plan office, they are in a rural location so you must be a car driver. Whilst it is relaxed, you will be prepared to work hard and be motivated to progress. The opportunity is there for someone to take on more complex work and more responsibility in time, as the firm takes on new clients all of the time, so the plan is to be in a position to recruit again within a year, therefore you will get the opportunity to assist the with training and supervision of any new recruit. This role offers a great long term career in practice.

You must have good communication skills, drive and ambition and happy to work in a small team environment, where you can be left in the office on your own on occasion.

Salary range on offer will depend on your level of experience – £26,000 – £26,400along with study support if required, lots of responsibility and great progression opportunities.
