Accounts Payable Clerk – 12 Month Contract

Our client is a one of the largest names in Waste Management in the Home Counties. They commenced business 14years ago with 1 driver, 1 lorry and the family dog. The business has grown considerably since then and now holds 65 permanent members of staff. But one very important factor still remains at the heart of their business….. Family! Our client has a true family feel to it but has harnessed the importance of professionalism as a key factor in their huge success’s thus far.

A fantastic new opportunity has arisen within their finance department due to a recent surge in their client base, for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join them initially on a 12-month contract with a view to going permanent. This would be the perfect next step for an Accounts Junior looking to upskill and further their career with Accountancy and Finance with the guidance of their exceptional Finance Manager.

The role will report into the Finance Manager and you will be responsible for Account Payable duties such as:

• Daily Processing of Supplier Invoices in a timely manner
• Pairing and posting credit notes
• Ensure correct coding of supplier Invoices/Credits
• Preparation Supplier Payment run twice monthly
• Raising cheques
• Liaising with Suppliers, investigating and resolving queries
• Daily bank reconciliations
• Investigating and resolving reconciliation queries
• Supplier Statement reconciliations
• Setting up new Supplier Accounts
• Other Ad hoc administrative tasks

Skills Required:

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail – Essential
• Experience of Sage 50 – this would be beneficial as they are going through a migration programme and will be using Sage 50 moving forward.
• Studying towards CIMA/ACCA/AAT – Essential
• At least 12-months’ similar experience – Essential

In turn you will receive a salary of £18,000.00 pro rata PA, 20 days’ holiday pay and a company pension. This really is a fantastic company to work for!
