Accounts Assistant (spr/Aa/Nd)

Springer, a global STM publishing leader, is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their Finance Team based in Central London

Job duties
This is a great opening for an individual who is looking to work in a progressive finance function and within a collaborative team. This will be a fantastic opportunity to learn about the core parts of finance and how the function works. You will interact with all the different UK Springer businesses and provide support in core areas including customer invoicing and billing queries, supplier invoices, supplier payments, and employee travel floats and expense claim submissions.

• Raising Sales Ledger invoices/credit notes and responding to customers (either direct or working with Customer Services) for financial queries
• Scanning purchase ledger invoices and maintaining the AP workflow process to ensure coding, approval and payments take place on time.
• Responding to supplier queries
• Issuing and reconciling Petty Cash and assisting with the management of the Corporate Credit Cards and Open Cash Floats claims
• Supporting employees with cash floats, expense claims and invoice payments issues
• Assisting with other finance and administrative duties
• Working with colleagues from all areas and levels of the business

Person specification
Essential
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
• Previous experience in a finance/administration environment
• A proven interest in Finance
• Excellent organisation skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Be customer focussed and service driven
• Excellent prioritisation skills, attention to details and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Highly computer literate (eg: Outlook, MS Excel, Windows etc)

Desirable
• Experience of SAP accounting software
• Previous sales and purchase ledger experience
