Our client is a successful B2B PR agency based in Carshalton in Surrey, working with some of the biggest brands in their sectors (animal health, logistics, transport & technology)and they enjoy long-term client relationships which defy industry trends.

The company is among the fewer than 10% of all PR agencies in the UK to have been awarded the PRCA’s Communications Management Standard – passing their most recent audit with a score of 91%.

As a journalist-led agency they place a significant focus on generating great content for their clients. This makes the role ideally suited to a talented journalist seeking their first taste of PR, or an experienced PR professional with excellent writing skills. However, just being good isn’t enough. The company has built its client base by delivering exceptional service and results to their clients, which add significant value to all involved.

They are looking for someone who is passionate about their work, and who will share the same commitment they have to producing outstanding results.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing, sustaining and extending client relationships
  • Creating great content for clients including, but not limited to, press releases, case studies, advertorials, features, award entries, brochures, infographics, web copy and social media posts- including research and managing approvals processes
  • Identifying relevant media titles, bloggers, influencers, journalists and social media feeds
  • Being competent and confident in pitching ideas and stories to journalists
  • Briefing and managing professional design, print, photography and film assignments to approved external suppliers
  • Attending client meetings, journalist briefings, press conferences and trade shows
  • Providing crisis PR advice / management to clients, with support from colleagues
  • Creating, updating and maintaining professional Microsoft Office documents and presentations
  • General account management, planning, organisation and evaluation for clients

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND TRAITS

  • A first class standard of written and spoken English
  • Experience of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good standard of degree level education, or three or more A-levels at A-C level
  • Prior hands-on, full time, journalism or PR role
  • Experience of writing for the media
  • Strongpeople skills
  • Ability to meet and surpass expectations
  • A passion for delivering successful projects
  • Excellent writing skills for different materials from press releases/editorial to website copy
  • Excellent account management skills
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Good overall IT skills
  • Commitment to the role anddelivering on objectives/deadlines
  • Positive attitude and friendly outlook
  • Able to work under pressure, prioritising to meet deadlines and multi-tasking

DESIRABLE SKILLS AND TRAITS

  • NCTJ foundation or diploma qualification or Marketing/PR qualification
  • Experience of Cision and/or Sysomos software packages
  • Experience of using Twitter in a business environment

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

SALARY: Up to £44k DOE

BENEFITS: Modern air-conditioned offices with spacious workstations, company smartphone and laptop, company pension scheme, performance-related annual bonus scheme, free secure parking (agency also close to two mainline rail stations)

HOURS: 9am – 5.30pm Monday to Thursday, 9am – 5pm Friday

ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 days per year pro rata from starting date, plus your birthday off work.
