Account Manager – Food & Drink Manufacturing Solutions

Location: North West England

Basic Salary Circa £66,000 + Car/Allowance + Benefits.

The Role

The role is a new role and comes as a result of successful expansion.

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Manager you will be responsible for achievement of sales volume and profitability targets associated with the management of specific accounts.

Achieve revenue and margin budgets across all accounts and products.

Through regular contact develop good working relationships with customers across multiple functions.

Work with customers to grow the business through effective resource management.

Identify and implement continuous improvement projects to maintain competitiveness and achieved advantages with the customer.

Implement strategies and campaigns to drive sales

Effectively manage the requirements of the customer base, managing stocks, sales and unit forecasts, meeting key turnover and margin requirements

Identify future account/business development opportunities.

Achieve agreed sales targets by month and per annum

Update & evaluate regular customer rolling forecasts

All administrative aspects of tender and contract processes, including ensuring legal compliance, via use of necessary external resources.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will be experienced in Sales environments within food, drinks or packaging environments

Experience of working within a large national organisation

New business development experience

Able to demonstrate personal success in the achievement of commercial targets

Skills and Knowledge

Understanding of sales account management, particularly management of high volume, strategic purchases

Project management – strong co-ordination and planning skills, ensuring strategies developed and followed through to ensure success

Budgetary control and understanding of business finance

Able to work on short-term issues combined with making a significant contribution to the implementation of strategies for the medium and longer term success of the business.

Effective presentation skills.

Analytical and at ease working with spreadsheets.
