Job Description

Finance Manager – £30,000 – £35,000 DOE + Life Ass + Pension + Healthcare – Godalming

My client is now looking for a Finance Manager to join their dynamic and well known organisation.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Financial Director and managing five Accounts staff, you will produce timely and accurate forecasts and month end accounts.

This is a senior role within the business, the successful applicant being a hands-on Finance Manager with the ability to lead and motivate.

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking, enthusiastic and pro-active Finance Manager and some of their specific tasks will include; producing management and financial accounts, Accruals and Prepayments, reviewing Controls and Reconciliations.

The successful applicant does not specifically need to be qualified but must have relevant experience supported by a ‘can do’ attitude along with the inclination to get their ’sleeves rolled up’ as and when required.

Accuracy, attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines are also key characteristics.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise and participate in the preparation of various financial statements and reports.
Ensure that all accounting records are maintained correctly including nominal and subsidiary ledgers.
Ensuring all financial controls is adhered to.
Managing the Credit Controller to ensure compliance, and prompt collection
Coordinate preparation of audit materials and lead interaction with internal and external auditors involving review of accounting and administrative controls.
Posting all necessary month end journals and preparing final month end management and year end accounts.
Manage the accounts team to ensure a high standard of Controls and Reporting are maintained.
Liaise with the Financial Director on all aspects of accounting and finance.
It is essential that applicants have excellent organisational and communication skills with a strong belief in high standards.

It is most likely that the successful candidate will have recent experience working within a similar small to medium sized organisation.
