Position: AAT Trainee Accounts Assistant

A well established and successful Manufacturing company based in Warrington is looking for an AAT Trainee Accounts Assistant to join its growing team on a permanent basis. This vacancy has arisen due to company expansion and a recent promotion within the business.

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will, already be studying towards the AAT qualification and have a minimum of 6-12 months practical accounts experience. The company is offering full AAT study support and the opportunity for progression and CIMA study support further down the line. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is career focused, eager to learn and looking for the ‘next step’ on the career ladder.

Due to the location of the business it is essential that all applicants drive and have access to their own transport.

The AAT Trainee Accounts Assistant will be responsible for:

• Processing and posting purchase invoices
• Running journals
• Reconciling and posting payments
• Creating daily purchase orders and printing regional delivery updates
• Producing monthly credit note analysis
• Some credit control procedures including chasing outstanding invoices
• Sales Ledger processing – ensuring that the ledger is kept clean and tidy
• Producing monthly reports to support management accounts
• Allocating payments – credit card, cheque, cash, BACS, web orders
• Ad-hoc duties including processing credit notes, sorting and distributing post and amending delivery dates
  

Essential Requirements are:

• You must have a minimum of 6-12 months of accounts experience
• Studying towards AAT
• Be career focused, driven and enthusiastic
• Strong team player
• Excellent communication skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Experience of Sage is advantageous (but not essential)
