3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, Server, VMWare, Intune, fully remote, Outside IR35

Our client, an industry leader based in Bristol, is looking to hire a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer on a 6 month assignment.

Reporting to the ICT Operations Manager, you will be a technical lead on projects involving installation and maintenance of ICT hardware, software, networks and communications systems as well as maintaining a secure, robust, agile and up to date infrastructure environment.

You will provide 3rd line technical support to the business and will also assist in developing and mentoring junior engineers.

Please note: engagement is via umbrella company only.

General responsibilities:-

  • Lead on the implementation and support of the organisation’s core systems and networking to ensure the security, stability and performance of all systems.
  • Implement and support key security improvements across all core ICT systems & infrastructure.
  • Work to resolve security vulnerabilities identified by vulnerability scanning solutions and penetration testing.
  • Proactively implement and evolve the organisation’s use of Microsoft Office 365 technologies.
  • Deliver technology design and implementation
  • Provide 3rd Line technical support, carrying out diagnostic routines and processes to correct complex issues and problems following ITIL best practice.
  • Ensure that configuration management database is up to date and accurate.
  • Support and maintain the organisation’s Mobile Device Management solutions and VOIP telephony systems.
  • Investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents and provide technical resolutions.

Technical skills required: –

  • Windows Server
  • VMWare
  • O365
  • Intune
  • Veeam (Desirable)
  • AutoPilot (Desirable)
  • Substantial experience in an ICT Infrastructure role.
  • DHCP
  • DNS
  • Experience of cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS.
  • Experienced in managing an IP network.
  • Good networking knowledge and understanding of switches, firewalls, TCP/IP and routing.
  • Very strong practical skills with IT hardware and software including mobile devices.
