IT Support Technician (1st / 2nd Line)

 

Ford and Slater are one the UKโ€™s largest DAF Truck dealers group with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 850 staff whilst remaining a family run business. Due to continued growth, we currently have a vacancy for anย IT Support Technicianย to join the IT Support Team at our Leicester Head Office.

Who are we looking for as our IT Support Technician?ย Ideally, you will have the following skills:

 

  • Previous experience working as a 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Technician (Hardware & Software).
  • A โ€˜can do attitudeโ€™ and โ€˜no job is too small or to bigโ€™ kind of mentality (ie. physically move equipment and sometimes act as โ€˜goods inโ€™ person when needed).
  • General networking skills – configuration & troubleshooting.
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows OS and Office 365.
  • Experience of Windows Support and relevant technologies – Active Directory, DHCP, DNS would be an advantage.
  • The ability to troubleshoot until issues are resolved.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

 

The 1st / 2nd Line IT Support Technician role / responsibilities includeย (but not limited to):

 

  • As an IT Support Technician, you will be working in a close-knit team, ensuring that all IT queries (1st & 2nd Line) are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Primarily supporting users on site at Head Office but also remotely supporting our 15 depots across the UK.
  • Technologies you will be supporting include Dark Trace, Antigena, Webroot โ€“ Antivirus, Censornet โ€“ Web Filter, Heimdal โ€“ Remote Support, Soti Mobile Device Management, Ricoh Print Management and Office 365 โ€“ One Drive, MS Teams.
  • Training on company-specific applications will be provided.
  • Working Monday to Friday.
