As First Line Hosting Support Technician you will focus on delivering effective 24/7 support (shift basis) to Dedicated Self-Managed and Managed Hosting customers via any active support medium employed by Webfusion, this might be ticket, phone, online or forum. Successful applicants will deliver effective support to VPS and Cloud platforms taking First Line calls and Second Line resolutions. Therefore we are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and a detailed knowledge of Web Hosting technologies. We offer full training on all areas, but ideal applicants will have existing knowledge or experience of a First Line Support environment.

We aim to resolve all queries within agreed time frames but also deliver a world class service, teaching the customer where possible how to solve problems in the future to aid them in becoming self-sufficient. Therefore exceptional communication skills are a must combined with the ability to explain complex information in simple terms, ensuring the customers full understanding at every step.

We’d like:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a technical support role preferably in hosting support.
  • A solid understanding and experience of working with both Linux and windows server environments with exposure to distributions/flavours such as Ubuntu, CentOS.
  • Experience with control panels such as cPanel and Plesk (preferable)
  • A good understanding of the following technologies:
  • MS Server 2008/2012
  • Ubuntu 12/ CentOS
  • MySQL/ MSSQL (desirable)
  • SMTP/ POP/ IMAP
  • PHP module installation and server side diagnostics
  • The Domain Name System (DNS)
  • IIS v7.0 and 8.0
