Job Purpose:

The 1st Line Engineer will be logging calls and escalating problems to the relevant support teams so it is vital that candidates have very good communication skills both written and verbal.

Candidates should have some technical experience around the following:

– Windows 7

– Active Directory

– Exchange/Outlook

– MS Office

– Hardware/Printers

Those with previous experience in a client facing helpdesk role, strong communication skill both verbally and in writing and a desire to develop their technical abilities through work place and self-motivated study are encouraged to apply for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1st line helpdesk support for all IT problems and requests including the answering/logging of call and emails with pre-determined time frames
  • Assist all team members, such as 2nd and 3rd line as required, learning from them to increase your technical knowledge.
  • Complete daily checks and backups and undertake preventative maintenance to ensure the stability of the operating system.
  • Liaise with and coordinate 3rd party vendors
  • Provide effective communication to our varied client base regarding the status of their issues
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the IT team and Employer as a whole
  • Technical skills beneficial to the role
  • Previous experience in a helpdesk/1st line support role
  • Client facing exposure
  • Good understanding of PC hardware and terminology
