111 Call Handler Roles based in Horwich

Working within North West Ambulance Services 111 call centre, you will be handling inbound calls from adults and children relating to health matters and concerns. You will be using the comprehensive pathways training provided in your initial employment and the systems available to diagnose and support the caller.

The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) was established on 1 July 2006 following the merger of four Trusts covering Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Mersey Region. The Trust provides services to approximately 7 million people in an area of 5,400 square miles.

Based in Horwich the recently refurbished 111 call centre is truly great place to work with a fantastic modern environment. Please ensure that you would be able to get to and from work within the shift times below as public transport is limited at some of these times in this area. Own transport would be advisable for this role, free on-site parking is available.

Experience in a contact centre, call centre, customers service or health care is preferred but not essential. Comprehensive training will be provided to enable you to handle the calls you will receive.

Providing service across 7 days per week you will be working regular weekends. Contracts are on offer for 22.5 hours + per week between: Monday to Friday 17:00 to 02:00 and then Saturday and Sunday, shifts between the hours of 05:00 to 02:00, Shift enhancements are paid at specific times.

Shifts are issued 6 weeks in advance, successful candidates will need to complete assessments, a competency based interview and also pass reference checks and a DBS check.

Salary range: £19,960 to £30,359 pa.

Up to 35 days holiday per year.
