1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School in Batley (Year 2)
Hours: 8:30am – 3:30pm
About the role:
This 1:1 SEN Support Assistant role is based in an ambitious and thriving Primary school in Batley. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 SEN Support Assistant to start in February 2022 for a full-time position supporting a little girl in class 2 who has been diagnosed with Autism. You will be required to work on a 1:1 basis with throughout the day, running interventions in numeracy and literacy. You will support her with guided reading and encourage her to build positive relationships with her peers.
When you are not working 1:1 with pupil you will be supporting around the school as a general teaching assistant where needed, giving you experience in a range of classrooms.
Your Role:
- Assisting in the delivery of effective teaching on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in sensory work
- Preparing classroom resources
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
- You will be assisting pupils with Autism

The ideal candidate:
- Outgoing and nurturing manner
- At least 6 months experience working with children aged 4 – 11 (paid or voluntary)
- Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their academic potential
- You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same in a Primary School, so being prepared is vital.
- Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
