Transport and Warehouse Manager – Edinburgh – 9 month contract

£30,000 to £33,000 Depending on experience

We have ten regional bakeries, a central savoury production unit, a distribution centre and our own fleet of 375 delivery vehicles.

Greggs now has a 9-month interim role for a Transport and Warehouse Manager, based at our Edinburgh Bakery on salary of £36,000 – £39,600depending on experience.

Reporting to the Regional Logistics Manager, the primary focus of the role is to control and direct the operation of the transport and despatch services ensuring that the products are delivered to the shops on time and in full and in a compliant and cost effective manner. This role is an excellent development opportunity for an experienced Supervisor or Manager looking to broaden their experience. Transport experience is not necessary and emphasis will be placed on exceptional people skills.

Transport and Warehouse Manager Key Responsibilities:

Ensuring goods are despatched and delivered to the shops at the time required to meet service levels
Providing cost effective delivery routes to all shops while remaining within budget and legal constraints
Managing compliance and ensuring all transport legal matters are dealt with professionally and efficiently
Ensuring that Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations and standards are adhered to
Reviewing internal customer interface and systems to identify actions to improve customer satisfactio
Actively contributes to the weekly production team meetings and national group meetings as required
Assisting the Logistics Manager in identifying and developing proactive transport approache
Ensuring that Driver training is carried out within company policy and legal complianc
Carrying out PDR’s with direct reports, agreeing targets and objectives, conducting monthly 1 to 1’s and agreeing individual development plans
Leading both the despatch and transport teams in line with the values, with high visibility through regular meetings and coaching, promoting a culture of achievement and responsibility

Transport and Warehouse Manager Key Requirements:

Experience of managing a team
Experience of chill chain and temperature controlled delivery operation
Experience of a time sensitive daily fresh operation
CAT C Licence (preferred but not essential)
Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
Good level of computer literacy

Transport and Warehouse Manager Working Hours:
