Book Bus Driver
Term Time Only, 37 hours a week
Fixed Term Contract – 12 months
Annual Salary £19,058 – £19,925 pro rata to term time
The School Library Service is a small customer-focused team which works under constant pressure – especially at peak times.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and capable person to drive the 7.5 tonne vehicle that delivers our book exchange service to schools.
The post holder will have to travel to schools throughout Essex, the Southend and Thurrock authorities, and occasionally into Herts where we have 3-4 schools. The post holder will also have to make multiple drop deliveries in a long wheel base transit style van over one week periods at the beginning and end of each term.
You will need to have a current driving licence with C1 category if your driving test was passed after 1997 (please state this on your application).
Considerable experience of driving, manoeuvring and the parking of large vehicles is required. A calm personality will be an advantage as you will be working to a strict timetable. A flexible attitude to your working day is also essential. This post will be term time only.
