Our expanding Sales team requires a highly motivated Account Manager for our new Chemicals business line. The successful applicant will be responsible for selling products from our Chemicals portfolio across EMEA. This role positions the individual for outstanding career growth within IHS.

This role has responsibility for the management and growth of a number of set accounts.
The Account Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a clear strategy to exceed quota:

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of IHS chemicals products and capabilities;
  • Plan and implement sales and business plans for a number of medium and large accounts (under personal control in order to achieve agreed sales volumes);
  • Implement agreed annual business plans for each account consistent with overall sales volumes;
  • Monitor the achievement of sales objectives with each account and identify and propose plans for exploiting business development activities;
  • Ensure that all functions involved in the delivery of agreed customer support of business development activities are briefed in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Monitor competitor activity in each account and ensure that an appropriate response is formulated and implemented where necessary and that all relevant competitor information is disseminated within the Company;
  • Prepare and submit sales/activity reports as required.

To be successful in this role, candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • A tangible track record of account management within the chemicals sector, and the end-to-end management of the sales cycle;
  • Experience within Information Management with an understanding of solution selling – candidates should have direct experience of solution sales;
  • Experience of selling into chemicals companies preferred;
  • Excellent knowledge of the chemicals sector and ideally existing relationships within the chemicals sector;
  • Excellent English language skills, combined with spoken French language;
  • Previous experience of working across the EMEA region, with a willingness to travel;
  • Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to deal with end users to C level executives;
  • Eager to learn value propositions across the IHS portfolio of products.
