Assistant Project Engineer – Public Safety & Subsidence

Our clients Public Safety and Subsidence team manages over 1000 new projects every year relating to the historic liabilities of the Coal Mining industry throughout the UK.
Historic liabilities including sudden ground collapses, mine entry collapses, emissions of water or gas, subsidence claims and occasionally spontaneous combustion of coal are all associated with former mine workings. These occur throughout the coalfields of the UK and present challenges in both urban and rural environments.
JOB ROLE:
The department requires a highly motivated Assistant Project Engineer to join its Engineering team based at the head office in Mansfield.
The ideal candidate will have:
* A sound educational base in engineering (preferably to HNC/D or degree) and be working towards membership of an appropriate professional body
* Experience in the design and supervision of civil, structural or geotechnical engineering work
* Some experience in contract management
* A thorough knowledge of construction Health & Safety
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Experience of working within a team environment
