Our client, the UK’s leading provider of advanced mobile technology across the Newspaper and Magazine category, is looking for an Account Manager.
This role takes overall responsibility for the successful running of existing accounts and involves working effectively with senior colleagues, in all departments and disciplines and other 3rd party organisations that have an influence on the way they operate.
The ideal candidate will have good customer facing and problem solving skills and be able to provide customers with valuable creative solutions to business issues. You will need to lead and deliver presentations, counsel senior customers and provide strategic insights on business and commercial issues whilst being able to build strong and enduring customer relationships at senior levels.
You will need a thorough understanding of the customer businesses within the Grocery sector, their brands, internal operations, motivations and overall market dynamics, to fully understand the role of Retail Operations, Loss Prevention, Data and Category Management within the customer’s market sector and business and be able to provide valuable counsel to senior clients.
The successful candidate will be involved in the strategic and business development of the organisation and will identify any new business opportunities, negotiate further work from customers, contribute to new business approaches and support the running of any trials/roll outs. You will need to be able to manage a team, improve team productivity through coaching, regular constructive feedback, process improvement and effective leadership, establish goals that the team will achieve for its customers and create a strong team spirit, so its members achieve those goals in a co-operative way.
You will need to have excellent negotiation skills and be effective at negotiating long-term contract renewals with an existing customer base, negotiate costs, contract readjustments/threats where necessary and take prompt remedial action as appropriate, forecast revenues and team costs and exceed income and profit targets as defined by Senior Leadership Team.
This is a permanent role paying £66,000 – £78,000 plus benefits and bonus.
