1st Line IT Support Technician – 2218

We are currently recruiting for a 1st Line IT Support Technician reporting to the Computer Systems Supervisor. The position will provide an initial point of contact for all IT-related enquiries within the business, along with IT procurement and software licensing. The successful 1st Line IT Support Technician will be highly motivated with strong customer service skills and a good understanding of IT in a corporate environment.

Duties / Responsibilities:

• To provide technical support; answering support queries via phone, email and in person whilst maintaining a high degree of customer service. Adhere to service management principles. To take ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with these issues
• Logging of all calls on the service desk system and liaise with the 2nd and 3rd line IT support technicians when escalation is required. Assist with user account and mailbox creation and modification
• Assist with software and hardware procurement and compliance e.g. 3rd party suppliers and software licensing
• Analysis and support of computer software and hardware and where necessary recommend a replacement plan to Computer Systems Supervisor (relating to all hardware equipment especially computers, notebooks and printers)
• To arrange for external technical support where problems cannot be resolved in-house

• Share the responsibility and control back up tape rotation, to ensure off-site tapes
  are delivered to the relevant person and that all backups have completed. Report any errors to Computer Systems Supervisor and enter details on service desk software
