1st/2nd Line IT Support Assistant – based in London

Paying up to £27,600 per annum + great benefits

A growing and well known financial services company is looking for an IT Support Assistant to ensure the smooth running of the company’s IT systems. You will also carry out all regular technical and administrative IT tasks, including the daily and weekly maintenance schedules, and respond to IT Helpdesk support issues as they arise. In addition, you will also carry out the manual daily backups and monitor the various automated backup and disaster recovery processes. You will be also expected to perform against pre-agreed KPIs.

My client is either looking for an IT Support professional with hands-on commercial experience or an IT graduate looking for your first entry level role into the industry then this particular company will support and develop you in gaining fantastic commercial and hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for supporting the IT Systems Manager in ensuring you and everyone in the IT systems team fulfil all of your legal and regulatory responsibilities including all aspects of our compliance procedures and initiatives. You are responsible for ensuring that the team’s procedures are current and up to date. Where procedural changes occur, you will ensure that these are appropriately authorised by the IT Systems Manager and then passed to Compliance for updating in the Compliance and Procedures Manual.

  • To proactively contribute to strategic, operational and/or tactical challenges within the firm.

  • To proactively contribute to the profitability of the firm in all areas of the business.

  • To use resources effectively and productively to ensure quality and consistency of work output.

  • To ensure any IT infrastructure risks to the firm are identified, reported and managed.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Providing 1st and 2nd line support for internal clients, and ensuring any issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Maintenance of server and other network systems – ensuring that IT systems are running smoothly and taking proactive measures to ensure continuity and quality of service is maintained at all times.

  • Security – including the monitoring of company system logs and other controls. Reporting all material issues to the IT Systems Manager.

  • Ensuring appropriate documentation is created and maintained for all company systems and related processes.

  • Performing the regular maintenance schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) to a high standard. Resolving issues identified where possible, and escalating to the IT Systems Manager when appropriate.

  • Backups – Making sure that all scheduled backups have completed and have been transferred off-site or stored on an appropriate, secure medium as per the agreed backup procedures.

  • DR – Ensuring that at all times the company has a working DR site, with the most recent data available, as per the firm’s Business Continuity Plan.

  • Research and Development.

  • Other IT administrative duties as necessary.
