The Agency

Fantastic Account Manager vacancy within Broadcast PR! Must have experience of Public Relations and a keen interest in TV and Radio Broadcast with ideally 2 years experience in an agency environment. This role is within a unique Broadcast PR agency working across the most exciting consumer, automotive and corporate accounts.

The Role

As an Account Manager you should drive the accounts you work on and be a capable and confident operator with a solid understanding of both traditional and broadcast media, as well as your clients and the sectors within which they operate. You should also play an active role in growing client relationships, supported by the senior management team and Board.

Your role is to oversee the successful execution of campaigns; ensuring results are in line with agreed objectives by quality controlling all aspects of service delivery. You are ultimately responsible for client satisfaction which is crucial for growing client relationships and the future success of the agency.

You should understand the role of PR in a client’s marketing mix and be well versed in how our services fit in with the wider activities of clients.

Key Skills and Requirements

New Business

Contribute towards a profitable business unit and bring new clients to the agency, by averaging at least one meeting a month with a potential new client and converting at least one every three months

Share “Recent Decent” case studies with existing and potential new clients, developing and demonstrating an application of professional intelligence and business maturity, based on who is sent what and why

Identify and alert existing and potential clients to opportunities arising from stories in the media and calendar hooks throughout the year

Written Work

Develop, structure and write creative new business approaches, proposals and client presentations, with input from the Senior Management Team, on a regular basis

Support the agency wide new business process, by delivering a consistent number of high quality proposals (averaging more than 2 a month) and approaches (averaging more than 3 a week)

Help your team’s client growth strategy by feeding into the strategic planning of key accounts and the on-going execution of successful campaigns (in turn supporting the wider team by sharing at least one “Recent Decent” example each month)

Assist Account Executives by proofing and amending their written communications, including campaign reports, “Recent Decent” examples and new business approaches

Ensure brief confirmation sheets are created and shared within 48 hours of a campaign being signed off and then updated to reflect changes to the campaign

Meetings

Lead internal and external meetings, ensuring preparation is well organised and where relevant that colleagues leading accounts are fully briefed on the meeting agenda

Take a key role in presenting creative and strategic recommendations to existing and potential clients

Business and Mentoring

Assist with the organisation of events ranging from workshops, to strategic new business sessions and the training of Account Executives across the business

Maintain a high quality of work, demonstrating best practice and dealing with account issues as they arise

Demonstrate a strong understanding of the broadcast sector; keep abreast of industry news (sharing with clients as appropriate) and ultimately play a key supporting role in the growth and success of the business by positioning yourself to clients as their broadcast consultant

Have a sound understanding of mark-up rules and invoicing procedures, contributing to accurate billing forecasts and invoice runs, as well as ensuring expenses are completed at the outset of campaigns, then accurately adjusted throughout a project lifecycle

Elicit briefs from your client base, lead new business brainstorms (in response to briefs and for proactive ideas) and provide creative input to your and the wider team

Develop useful and relevant business contacts and nurture relationships externally and internally, for example across the media team, production team and Opinion Matters

Brief the media team, Online Production, Video Production and Opinion Matters in a knowledgeable, clear and precise manner, working with them to ensure deadlines are met

Play a positive role in motivating and supervising the account executive team, sharing details of successful work and identifying potential knowledge / skills gaps and working with them to fill
