Introduction:
My client is prestigious 5 star hotel. They now have a requirement for an Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join their team at this site in Newport. The successful candidate will be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of various air conditioning/refrigeration systems including; splits, AHUs, coolers, walk in fridges/freezers, cooling towers etc.

Although not essential, candidates coming from an (ex military) background i.e. Army, Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) career are encouraged to apply, it is essential that candidates hold an F Gas (2079) qualification and have a strong working background within Air Conditioning/Refrigeration in order to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities:
– Carry out the maintenance and repair of a diverse range of air conditioning and associated equipment including; VRV/VRF, split units, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.
– Carry out scheduled service and maintenance tasks as directed.
– Prioritise reactive breakdowns ensuring repairs carried out to time schedule.
– Carry out repairs and test equipment to ensure that it is in working order.
– Install new components to ensure that machinery is working efficiently.
– Provide accurate service documentation for works carried out.
– Maintain regular contact with the Help Desk and Engineering Department, providing assistance to other engineers on site when required.
– Carry out work in accordance with the Company’s standards and policies, site safety rules, and current legislation.
– Ensure customers are handled in a polite, efficient and professional manner.
– Conduct good health and safety in the workplace at all times.
– Take a positive and proactive approach to the promotion of all aspects of the company.
– Perform other related duties as required.

Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
– Must hold F-Gas (2079) qualification.
– Proven demonstrable background in the service, maintenance and repair of a diverse range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
– Ability to work as part of a team cooperatively with other trades as well as on own initiative.
– Strong technical background with proven fault finding and demonstrable skills.
– Excellent customer service skills.
– Sound communicator with the ability to interface at all levels.
– Enjoy problem solving.
– Self-motivated and flexible approach to work.
– Able to participate in an on call rota when required.
Desirable:
– Hold an electrical qualification.
– Cooling tower experience.
– Fabric maintenance experience.

– Monday to Friday – 8am – 4pm, 37½ hours.
