A City based Underwriters seeks ideally educated to degree standard, preferably an 2.1 accounting based qualification, either raw or with experience to support in a broad accounts assistant role. You will be strong A level results, want to continue/take ACCA exams.
Main Purpose of Job:
To support the Finance team by undertaking certain syndicate book-keeping, reconciliation, investment recording and related tasks. Responsibilities will develop as knowledge and experience increases.
Key Tasks
Maintain accurate accounting records for the Company including the fixed asset register, purchase ledger system.
Responsible for the preparation of balance sheet reconciliation work e.g. bank balances, LCA balances, claims and premiums.
Assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly management accounts.
Assist in the preparation of Lloyd’s and statutory returns, as required.
Assist and produce monthly accounting controls, as required.
Liaise with auditors and management as necessary.
Assist in the administration of the syndicate investment portfolio.
General ad hoc duties including preparing finance and investment committee packs.
Ad hoc projects including the development and implementation of systems to improve ledger processes and department efficiency.
