Activity Leader & Site Manager – High Peak | Derbyshire

The Role

This is a great opportunity for someone who has been in sports coaching for a while to take on the role of activities manager over the school holidays.

The role will include the management of the following areas:

1) Product Delivery
•Plan whole programmes and lessons / sessions effectively using FFS materials
•Create and design opportunities that inspire children and young people to develop and lead healthy active lifestyles
•Monitor, assess and report on progress and achievement
•Quality assure planning, assessment and reporting across the site
•Ensure clients receive the best possible service in line with company service standards
•Ensure the delivery of programmes, activities and tasks is efficient and effective
•Make effective use of resources available

2) Operational and Financial Control
•Ensure sites have the resources needed to operate effectively
•Oversee the auditing of resources and requests for replacement and new resources
•Ensure staff numbers are appropriate for the job
•Report weekly to head office on site performance and compliance
•Ensure Ofsted requirements are exceeded
•Ensure children and young people are kept safe at all times
•Manage staff to ensure health and safety at all times

3) Sales and Activity
•Ensure the retention of business
•Seek out opportunities for the development of new business
•Actively seek to increase site profitability

4) People Management
•Quality assure teaching / coaching across the site
•Manage session leaders and assistants in the delivery of sessions, lessons and programmes
•Attend departmental meetings and training sessions where required
•Lead regular meetings within own site
•Ensure standards are maintained across the team.
•Monitor and ensure the personal and professional development of session leaders and assistants via regular 121’s and quarterly evaluates
•Identifying training and development needs of session leaders and assistants
•Facilitating access to training and development for site leaders and assistants
•Ensure company policies and procedures are being adhered to including absence management procedure & disciplinary procedure
•Manage the covering of absent staff

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have one or more of the following:
•A QTS (qualified teacher status) in PE
•Level 2 NGB sports coaching qualification or children’s activity qualification equivalents
•University degree in a sport related field
•Experience in coaching / teaching in primary schools (essential)

In addition to the above, the candidate must also be comfortable / have experience with the following responsibilities:
•Be able to plan, deliver and assess sites and groups so that they develop and make progress
•Be able to manage and lead multiple groups of children
•Show the skills necessary for leadership and management

They must also:
•Possess a passion for physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
•Be organised and able to work effectively in teams and as an individual, always maintaining a professional approach to work.
•Be able to relate well to, motivate, and encourage others being conscious of being a positive role model at all times.
•Have an enthusiastic attitude to life and work.
•Have the ability to make learning and work fun.
•Be well organised and demonstrate strong leadership and management skills

Salary

Up to £10 an hour.
