Brief Outline:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and forward-thinking Accounts Assistant who will support the European Financial Controller to ensure the data entry, customer accounts reconciliation, credit control and debt collection functions are maintained and ensure all accounting standards, policies and procedures are followed. This role will assist the European Financial Controller in all accounting function with a strong emphasis on CREDIT CONTROL and DEBT MANAGEMENT

About the Client:

Only 4 years old our client has made some serious in roads into the Freight Forwarding Industry. Focusing mainly on Air & Sea they are already taking business from some of the Top 25 Global Freight Forwarders. This is down to the way they conduct their business and deal with their clients. The 2 MD’s are very hands on and they like to socialise together which makes for an excellent working environment

About the Role:

* Sales ledger and credit control – ensure invoices are raised and posted accurately in a timely manner, review debtors on a DAILY basis and take necessary action to chase debt and ensure customers pay on time and meet agreed credit terms
* Allocating customer receipts and statement generation
* Purchase ledger– ensure authorisation from the appropriate operator for all purchase invoices takes place in a timely manner, reconciling supplier statements against purchase ledger
* Data entry to updates accounting system and CyberTraxTM when required
* Prepare and analyse ad-hoc reporting required by management
* Assist in preparation of statutory financial accounts for audit
* Ensure all accounting and administrative systems meet all regulatory requirements and develop corrective actions, when needed
* Assist in Office Management – monitor office supplies and order as required, health and safety, human resources
* Other accounting tasks as requirement to meet business requirements

About the Candidate:

* Experience of Sage Line 50 or higher accounting system
* At least 4 years’ experience working within a varied finance and accounting role
* Strong organisational skills including proven ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
* Excellent collaborative interpersonal and communication skills
* Excellent problem analysis and resolution skills
* A high degree of competency with the MS Office suite
* Able to work accurately and methodically, with good attention to detail
* Comfortable handling complexity and ambiguity
* Able to develop good relationships with colleagues and to effectively communicate at all levels
* Enthusiastic, conscientious, self-motivated and committed
