Global freight forwarder currently seeking to expand their national sales force in the UK, and are now looking in various locations for multi modal Business Development Managers.
The role
The Business Development team is responsible for growth of the business through
achievement of new business wins and, through close collaboration with Branch
Managers as well as the Global and EMEA sales and account management teams in
the expansion of business with existing clients through innovative and cost-effective
solution design and a professional sales approach. The team is also closely
involved with the development of business opportunities through cross-selling with
Contract Logistics.
Key Accountability Areas
– To identify new business opportunities, preparing and presenting business proposals to prospective and existing customers with the aim of securing new contracts in appropriate and compatible business sectors and achieving new wins conversion rate.
– Support research on specific customer / prospective markets and develop innovative, cost effective and timely service offerings as appropriate.
– Maintaining a lead and opportunity pipeline of adequate size, quality and profile to achieve budgeted sector focus targets.
– Assist with formal customer reviews ensuring regular and appropriate customer communications are planned and completed.
– Ensure maintenance of effective documented records in line with Company procedures.
– Support the negotiation of commercial terms being presented to the customer and ensure commercial sign-off is completed in line with Company procedures.
– Maintain good working relationships with colleagues in other functions to identify and recommend where appropriate solutions that enhance proposals.
– Generate new business in accordance to sales commission guidelines
