My client is currently looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their growing accounts department due to an increase in work load.

The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to achieving deadlines and an excellent telephone manner as dealing with internal and external clients by telephone is an important part of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process all purchase invoices andsupplier rebates ensuring they have the correct coding and approval
  • Preparation of Bacs/Cheque payment runs ready for approval/payment
  • Processing all staff cash and credit card expenses in accordance with the company deadlines.
  • Investigate and reconcile differences on supplier ledgers and balance sheet accountson a monthly basis
  • Preparation of monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all payments and receipts are posted
  • Posting and reconciliation of branch till cash takings and petty cash
  • Maintenance of group and branch fixed asset registers
  • Produce & process all intercompany recharges on monthly basis
  • Preparation of monthly VAT returns for all group companies
  • General administration duties including post
  • Assisting in the preparation of management accounts/ budgets and forecasts
  • Attend monthly financial review meeting with the Management Accountant.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required by the senior management team

An organised methodical approach to work and sound problem solving skills are essential. The desired candidate will be educated to an accountancy degree level or working towards their Level 2 AAT qualification.
