Our client is a Northwest based IT company that offers IT support, bespoke cloud hosted services and network and telecom’s installations. They are now undergoing a period of growth in both these areas and are looking for a 1st Line Support Engineer to join their team.
This is the ideal role for a customer focused technical support professional with experience of supporting Microsoft applications and hardware who is looking to build their career with a rapidly growing company offering exceptional training.
As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you will be responsible for operating the 1st line support function on our client’s helpdesk and providing the first point of contact for customers experiencing technical difficulties
You will ensure that daily server monitoring checks are performed in a timely manner and customer documentation records are maintained. You will also monitor the unassigned job queue in the helpdesk and ensure the system in kept up-to-date.
Additionally, you will identify issues that need escalating and reassign them. You will also perform any desktop, laptop or server repair tasks and always operate as per our client’s standard operating procedures for all work undertaken.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
– Experience of working within a customer service environment
– Experience of providing technical support at 1st line or above
– Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 and above support experience
– A basic working knowledge of Active Directory, Terminal Server and Exchange 2007 and above
– A basic understanding of networking concepts
As a 1st Line Support Engineer, you must possess a logical approach, strong attention to detail and a great customer focus. Adept at solving problems, you must also demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
Experience of supporting Watchguard Firewalls and Symantec Backup Exec would be beneficial to your application. A proven track record of supporting VOIP Telephone systems would be equally favourable. A relevant industry certification would be an added advantage.
