12 month maternity cover
£29-£34K + company bonus
25 days holiday plus excellent bonus and flexi time
Working within a procurement team that predominantly deals with flexible contracts, the Account Manager is responsible for managing a range of customer accounts and developing relationships to ensure customer retention levels are met and encourage future business opportunities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Organise and proactively manage existing accounts to maximise the income per customer from both the brokerage fees and additional services the Company can provide.
- Organise and attend regular meetings with customers.
- Secure competitive energy supply contract rates at the most appropriate time of year for existing customers.
- Discuss with the customer the type and length of contract (fixed or flexible) that best suits their needs ensuring that the customers’ expectations are met, contracts delivered on time, and customer service levels adhered to.
- Resolve all contract termination and objection issues at contract renewal.
- Ensure all queries are handled and resolved effectively.
- Maintain accurate and up to date customer records and manage all day to day administration to meet deadlines including dealing with general account queries, non-payment reminders, data entry and any other activities to support the team.
- Ensure all areas of work are followed up, liaising with all relevant personnel, and discuss progress with the customer each quarter.
- Where further business opportunities are identified manage the sales process liaising with line manager, Head of Procurement or a Consultant as necessary.
- Manage and maintain supplier relationships including arranging visits and invitations to the office.
Team Support & Meetings
- Provide cover and support to the Business Manager, dealing with team issues and/or queries when necessary.
- Attend and contribute to regular team meetings including providing input to identify ways in which the procurement team can improve services to both customers and suppliers.

Experience in the following would be advantageous:
- Account management experience working within the energy/utilities industry, dealing with business customers
- Negotiating and evaluating contracts both fixed and flexible
- Managing a number of accounts at any one time and handling a wide range of queries by telephone and email
- Proven experience of successfully creating and developing relationships
- Upselling products or services
- Use of database systems
