Salary £26,000 per year, depending on age (this is reflective of NMW)
About the Apprenticeship Programme
Home Group’s apprenticeship programme is open to anyone under the age of 25 and to all Home Group and Stonham customers and clients of any age.
Benefits of the programme include a wage that is higher than the national apprenticeship minimum wage and the opportunity to earn while you learn and complete a range of nationally recognised qualifications that relate to your job role. Our apprenticeships are initially employed at level two for a 12 month period. Those who succeed on level two will then be offered the chance to progress onto a level three apprenticeship which lasts for a further 12 months. Following this the majority of our apprentices go on to enjoy permanent roles within Home Group. Therefore, this really could be the start of an exciting and rewarding career.

About the role
We have an excellent opportunity for an Apprentice Support Worker to join the Care and Support team in our homelessness service in Bolton. You will provide positive practical improvements to client’s independent living skills and assist other staff in ensuring clients meet the goals outlined in their individual support plans.
We’ll be providing you with the support and training to enable you to provide support on day to day activities including answering the telephone, inputting client details into Home Groups internal information systems, keeping client records organised and up to date.
During the apprenticeship you will gain experience in all aspects of the role and will be provided with on the job training along with studying for a relevant professional qualification (NVQ Certificate Level 2 or equivalent).
Who we’re looking for
The Home Group apprenticeship programme has been designed to support our customers and clients and also young people who are struggling to find full-time employment. Therefore, due to the funding requirements of this programme, to apply for a Home Group apprenticeship you must be either:
- A Home Group/Stonham customers or clients (of any age)
- A former Home Group/Stonham clients (of any age)
- Aged between 16 and 24 (you don’t have to be a Home Group Customer or Client and not currently in full time employment)
Ideally you will have good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and basic Microsoft Office Skills as you will work as part of a team, but must be able to work alone and use your initiative. You will be able to prioritise and manage your work load, whilst maintaining an accurate eye for detail.
