Teaching Personnel

The Headteacher of a reputable Primary School located on the outskirts of Liverpool City Centre / South Liverpool are on the look-out for a Primary Teaching Assistant to support the teaching of a mixed Reception/EYFS class from May 2022 ASAP. This is a full-time teaching assistant commitment. This role has cropped up due to a resignation and therefore, there is the potential for a permanent contract from September 2022.

Start date: May 2022

Duration: One term on a temporary contact, with the view to apply for a permanent role to start from September 2022.

Working hours: 8:30-15:30 Monday-Friday term time only.

The Headteacher in school is committed to life-long learning, therefore welcomes all teaching staff and support staff to participate in half-termly CPD; SLT are well respected by staff, parents and pupils. The class is made up of less than 30 pupils. This school boasts excellent facilities that offer children the best opportunities to learn and develop from EYFS-KS2.

Essential Requirements:

Knowledgeable and innovative Early Years educator with a genuine interest in working within a small Primary School. Capable of offering a stimulating learning journey which is defined by a rich and well-structured curriculum. 

Passionate about inspiring and motivating young minds and keen to grow within an incredible teaching and learning environment. Well humoured and keen to become part of a small school community.

Confident delivering excellent phonics teaching.

Level 2 (minimum) Childcare or Health & Social care qualification or Degree.

Or 6 months+ experience within a Primary School setting.

Responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant within a Primary School:

Encouraging an inclusive learning environment and planning and preparing creative resources.

Capable of supporting young children and delivering tailored interventions within the classroom.

Following school behaviour policies and using positivity to manage behaviour and de-escalate situations effectively.

Liaising closely with the Class Teacher and Head Teacher and reporting any concerns.

Liaising closely with parents and on-hand to answer any queries. Involved in all aspects of school life.

Following ECHP’s (Educational and Health Care Plan) in place for specific individuals and working alongside Speech and Language therapist who regularly visits school. 

Undertaking general classroom activities such ensuring a clean and safe learning environment.

Following a well-rounded curriculum and differentiating to suit a mixed age group class.

All Salary: s quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
