Introduction:
My client is one of the UK’s leading support services companies. They look after our armed forces by delivering essential infrastructure including, housing, management services, facilities management, planned and responsive activities, small works projects, professional services, estate management and grounds maintenance services. They now require an Accommodation Officer to be based at Larkhill, Wiltshire. You will be responsible for a portfolio of properties and infrastructure within a designated area and to fully support the delivery of the contract, using knowledge of the properties and local conditions to ensure that the service is delivered to the highest of standards.
This presents itself as an ideal opportunity to join an established company and, although not essential, could be well suited for a person who has previously served in the Armed Forces i.e. British Army, Royal Navy or Royal Air Force (RAF) and a proven track record within a property/maintenance environment on a MoD estate.
Responsibilities:
– Implement and enforce all appropriate measures to ensure that contractual obligations are met, ensuring that the highest standards of customer service are achieved.
– Report on contract performance indicators across the area.
– Demonstrate and maintain a collaborative ‘partnering approach’ with the defence estates and the supply chain delivery organisations.
– Investigate reports of breakages and barrack damages, raise work orders, and liaise with the employer over any observed major breaches of the licence to occupy.
– Provide local technical support for the delivery of reactive and planned maintenance including the preparation of specifications, monitoring of work standards, managing and witnessing commissioning and undertaking condition surveys, as well as ensuring work is completed on time, to exacting standards and deliver the highest levels of occupant care at all times.
– Act as a proactive focal point for all housing delivery issues within their area and provide assurance and conduct inspections to make sure that the service delivered meets the standards required by the business.
– Ensure voids are inspected regularly and the information is recorded on WorkManager.
– Comply with business policy and procedures, supporting continual improvement across the contract including the review and approval of any variations to works orders before additional works proceed.
– In collaboration with the help desk and the regional help desk, act as a customer interface between occupants and housing services as required.
Applicant Requirements:
– HNC level qualification in a Building/Civil Engineering or Electrical/Mechanical Engineering related discipline (or equivalent experience).
– Knowledge and experience of working within strict ISO 9000 policies and procedures.
– Familiarity with the sites and equipment for which responsible.
– Significant practical experience in construction/property maintenance.
– Excellent leadership and management skills.
– An appreciation of the unique issues faced by service families.
– Management of a safe system of work.
– Experience of operating in a military environment.
– Solving problems and making decisions.
– Ability and willingness to travel.
– Commercial acumen.
