Accounts Assistant
£16k per annum

Job Purpose
Our client is seeking a strong all-round accounts assistant with knowledge of Sage Line 50 to support their finance function.
Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger
-
invoice checking, analysis and posting
-
referral to budget holders for confirmation
-
authorisation by senior officer and
-
organisation of payments for approved and authorised invoices

Preparation of accounts as required beyond trial balance, through management accounts and auditors schedules

Analysis, costings and reporting as required
-
Audit of records to assist Assistant Accountant
-
Filing and record keeping as necessary for each ledger and record
-
Assistance as required by the Company Accountant in other areas as directed from time to time
-
Full weekly payroll activity
-
Checking of staff claims and calculations
-
Weekly and monthly calculations if required through to issue of payslips and bank instructions to pay

Maintaining payroll records in line with company and statutory requirements

Reconciliation of payroll and accounts ledgers

Submission of monthly and year end returns

Maintaining an awareness of legislative requirements

Assist with oversight of remote accounts function with Company Accountant, audit and reporting, backup and accounts administration
-
Oversight of the nominal ledger after to trial balance including production of VAT and any other statutory returns.

Assist with budget planning and control, management accounts and any other period accounts or analysis as required.
