This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established, successful and forward thinking specialist tour operator as an Assistant Marketing Manager. As an experienced marketing professional joining a busy marketing team, your primary role will be to support the Marketing Manager with the development, implementation and management of all offline and possibly some online marketing campaigns, events and projects. This will include supervising staff involved in these projects. Where relevant you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless integration of offline activities with online presence.

You will oversee presence at events and exhibitions including the stand design and layout, the logistics, staffing and marketing of the events.

You will oversee all offline advertising and coordinate the production of all the brochures and printed customer communications and documentation ensuring that there is always a consistent approach and that they meet the brand standards and are produced within budget.

A key element of your role will be to support the Marketing Manager & Director in the development and implementation of all partnership marketing campaigns; you’ll coordinate the activities and produce the end of campaign report. You will also be required to manage all competitions and promotions.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a senior marketing position or as an assistant marketing manager
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of direct marketing, customer recruitment and retention.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent marketing qualification
  • Excellent copy writing skills, a strong attention to detail and creative flair
  • Sound organisation skills and flexibility, with experience of managing multiple work streams
  • Excellent English communication skills (written – including copywriting and verbal)
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to thrive on working in a pressurised environment and to strict deadlines
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Proven ability to mentor and supervise staff
  • Ideally experience of using photographic software such as Photoshop or similar
  • Experience of working in the travel industry is desirable but not essential
