We are looking for a passionate, curious and motivating industry professional to join our team as a Performance Coach to share their expertise and coach high performing teams.
Summary of role
As a Performance Coach, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and excellence of training programmes and services offered by our organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide coaching and guidance to our trainers, assess programme effectiveness, and continuously improve training methodologies.
Brief summary of principle accountabilities
- Provide comprehensive coaching and mentorship to trainers and skills coaches, assisting them in delivering effective and engaging programmes.
- Evaluate the performance of trainers and coaches through observations, assessments, and feedback sessions, identifying areas for improvement and producing development plans.
- Develop and implement performance improvement strategies that align with Babington’s goals and objectives, contributing to ongoing professional growth and enhancing training methodologies.
- Development and support of new Skills Coaches through induction and appropriate sampling and support measures.
- Create opportunities for sharing best practice, Positive Action Groups, forums, occupational competence to enhance the occupational experience we provide to learners.
- Ensuring all internal & external Quality Assurance requirements are maintained.
- Support & deliver against the actions within the business CIP and sector deep dive activity.
- Collaborate with delivery managers, training manager and quality colleagues to establish quality benchmarks, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Through observation and sample checking embed the standard operating procedures and best practice into Skills Coach activity.
- Identify and define best practice before highlighting this and embedding into wider operation.
- Conduct regular train-the-trainer/coach the coach sessions to ensure consistent delivery of content, effective facilitation and coaching skills, and adherence to best practices.
- Create and maintain relevant materials, manuals, and resources to assist trainers in their delivery.

Qualifications
- Grade A-C GCSE in English and Maths or equivalent (E)
- Level 4 qualified in Project Management (E)
- Level 4 Certificate in Education & Training (or equivalent) teaching qualification or equivalent (E)
- Level 4 Certificate in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (D)
- Level 3 Coaching & Mentoring qualification (D)
Skills and experience
- Conversant with Ofsted Education Inspection Framework ensuring these standards are fully embedded with all delivery and programme development (E)
- Proven experience as a trainer or coach, preferably within a training provider. (E)
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present information effectively and collaborate with diverse stakeholders (E)
- Excellent coaching and mentoring skills, with the ability to provide constructive feedback and drive performance improvement. (E)
- Familiarity with quality assurance processes and techniques within a training environment. (E)
- Highly organised and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. (E)
- Proficiency in using learning management systems, e-learning software, and other training platforms is essential. (E)
