The Opportunity
Salary: £30,296 to £33,024 per annum.
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week).
Location: Chichester, with smarter working options to work from home available.
Interview date: Week commencing 15 January 2024
As our Legal Executive, your primary focus will be to provide a range of legal advice and support duties to the Litigation and Insurance Team in Legal Services.
You will provide advice on and handle a varied caseload dealing with third party and employers liability personal injury matters within the Fast Track and Multi Track procedures including those that may be more complex or contentious whilst providing an efficient service under guidance and direction from senior colleagues. There will be a requirement to attend court where required and assist the advocate.
What experience and skills are we looking for?
- You will have successfully achieved the membership grade of CILEX.
- You will be able to demonstrate previous experience within a similar role, with relevant or organisational knowledge of appropriate systems, procedures and policies.
- Effective advocacy skills / ability to present cases in a clear and concise manner
- Good negotiation skills to undertake technical legal negotiations to achieve specific outcomes.
- You will have excellent IT skills and be able to work using a case management system.
- You will have a structure approach to work, but also be able to work flexibly to meet the demands of this fast-paced team, organising and prioritising your own work as required.
- You will be a strong team player, demonstrating confidentiality and integrity in order to provide the best possible customer service in sometimes difficult circumstances.
- There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public. You’ll need to be able to travel between sites as needed.
