Desktop Support Analyst – City London – Notes to Exchange migration £330 p/d – 6 months

Our client is one of the healthiest banks in the world at this current time (virtually zero exposure to the sub-prime market). A contract opportunity has arisen to join this banking group as an a Desktop Support Engineer to work out of the London hub (employing c.1000 individuals) with a 300+ strong IT unit supporting the EMEA region.

Job purpose
Provide Floorwalker function for the Lotus Notes to Exchange migration project, involving basic user training and support during the migration phase of all the offices in the EMEA region which may require some business travel.

Key role responsibilities
*Provide Floorwalker function for Exchange migration project.
*Technical escalation point for 1st / 2nd Line Support teams.
*Delivery of project based work / undertake co-ordination role for small projects.
*Ensures that documentation of supported components is available and accessible to all who need to use it.

Essential Experience
of Outlook 2010 migrations and user support at a 2nd line level.
Experinced at providing user training in one-to-one and small group sessions.
Knowledge of the IT infrastructure (hardware, databases, operating systems, local area networks etc)
Knowledge of the IT applications and service processes used within own organisation with experience of providing remote support to staff located within the EMEA regions.

Desirable Experience
Working in Global Banking/Financial Services environment
Using or supporting: MS Exchange, Active Directory, Citrix XENApp and XENDesktop, APPSense, VBScript, LANDesk, Equitrac, VNC, WDM, Printers, MFDs, etc

Key skills: Windows XP, Windows7. Software: Outlook 2010, MS Office 2010, Lotus Notes, MS Office 2003, Exchange, 2nd line support

Please notes: Shift Rota between 07:00 and 20:00. Some business travel maybe required.
