Air / Ocean Freight Pricing and Customer Service Agent

Our client, a major player in the Global Freight Forwarding market is looking for a Pricing & Customer Service Agent to be based in their Trafford Office. This is a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join a massive blue chip organisation and develop within the company.

They are looking for a sales focused and driven person to really get into this role and contribute to the teams success. It can be a very hectic and pressured environment so we are looking someone who is used to a fast paced environment.

Key Activities will include: Completing ad-hoc quotes received into the operations department and liaising with relevant operation and product departments to ensure competitive pricing. You will be providing a prompt response to the customer and follow up every quotation. It’s a very busy department and they get over 1200 queries a month.

To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of three years experience in Freight forwarding (preferably multi-modal) and a good commercial understanding of air/ocean tariffs. Good Air/Ocean freight operational knowledge essential as well as a good commercial background and you must understand business principles profit and loss.

They are looking for a real team player so you must be prepared for flexible working subject to daily workloads. TOIL given for additional hours (no weekends worked)

You must be a good administrator as you will be ensuring that every quotation is recorded within KPI’s and have the ability to work with operations to ensure a SOP and suitable handover takes place when new order secured. A strong negotiator and decision maker with a strong product knowledge required together with financial awareness of credit ratings and policies. You will have a positive attitude towards customer service and contribute to safety and hygiene standards and you will be a good IT Generalist with a good working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.

Specific technical requirements needed are Air Freight forwarding experience and ideally Sea Freight as well, excellent Customer service and communication skills.

Good PC skills are essential and attention to detail is paramount.
