Test development of electric motors.

This is a new opening which has been created for an experienced test development engineer to join a successful and expanding electric vehicle technology company near Bicester. The company is involved with the design and development of electric motors for the electric vehicle market.

This test development engineer role will involve:

* Definition, development, planning and implementation of tests for the companies range of electric motors and possibly prototype vehicles

* The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP, PPAP and FMEAs

* In turn this may involve supporting the build and commissioning of test systems and analysis of test data

* Working closely with test technicians who will execute the tests

* Driving product development SOPs in line with product quality standards

The ideal candidate would be a degree qualified test development engineer that has gained direct experience with the test of electric motors within the automotive electric vehicle sector or perhaps industrial control, rail/rolling stock or aerospace industry.

Hands-on experience of testing electric motors would be a distinct advantage.

Skills / Knowledge- Test development engineer

* Ideally a degree or similar in a relevant subject (e.g. mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, etc)

* Experience with the definition, development, planning and implementation of tests for electric motors

* The development of test requirements in conjunction with DVP, PPAP and FMEAs

* Able to support the build and commissioning of test systems and analysis of test data (e.g. motor controller / inverter etc)

* Good knowledge and experience of AC electric motors and controller powertrains

* Knowledge of DVP, PPAP and FMEA for EV electric motor development

* Experience with originating Quality and SOP documents for Test Procedures, DVP, PPAP and FMEA

* Able to work effectively in a fast paced, small company environment in conjunction with test technicians

* Good organisational, planning and communication skills

* Able to ensure that Test Requests / Process are understood, achievable and delivered

* Able to produce test reports, test data and support DVP activities at project meetings Previous experience within an EV test environment would be preferred
