Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £42,000 – £72,000 per year

Quantity Surveyor – Required for our client in West Sussex who are a medium Civil engineering and groundworks contractor. The Quantity Surveyor would be working on projects between Chichester to Brighton and will also be involved in estimating duties 20% of the time. The Quantity Surveyor will be working on project within highway roadworks, highway/general structures, design & build, commercial & industrial buildings, and public realm.

The Quantity Surveyor will be working closely with Contracts Managers, Estimators & other Quantity Surveyors reporting directly to the Commercial Manager. The Quantity Surveyor will have experience working for a Civil Engineering contractor and will have the ability to see projects through to completion with little assistance. The Quantity Surveyor must have knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 contracts and be looking for a long term role joining a very successful business with an excellent reputation and proven track record of delivering high end project.

Quantity Surveyor Position Overview

• Working on highway roadworks, highway/general structures, design & build (commercial & industrial buildings) and public realm
• Estimating on small projects
• Monthly project valuations
• Managing and agreeing variation accounts
• S/C quotes, procurement & placement of orders
• Detailed take offs and dims
• Producing detailed activity schedules for tenders
• Pricing activity schedules/BoQ’s from basic principles
• Assisting with PQQ’s (pre qualifications questionnaires) for tenders
• Assisting with technical questionnaires for tenders

Quantity Surveyor Position Requirements

• Solid experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering
• Experience of estimating
• Knowledge of NEC 3 & 4
• Experience and knowledge in civil engineering and general groundworks
• Confident to run own projects
• Must me looking for a long term role
• Driving Licence
