Company & Project: An award winning Tier 1 Main Contractor in Cambridgeshire operating in the across the Commercial, Residential, Leisure, Healthcare and Science/Pharmaceutical sectors, are seeking to recruit an experienced and effective planning lead to complement their on-site Construction Delivery team, based in Cambridgeshire.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the on-site planning team across multiple projects, providing innovative solutions and analysis to programming and planning. 

Duties & Responsibilities: The successful candidate will take responsibility for the planning function including managing the planning, programming and progress control of live projects will as a key part of the role, liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.

You will be instrumental as the key point of contact with Project Managers on site, with excellent communication skills essential for this role. This candidate should have a good knowledge of ASTA PowerProject and be fully conversant with producing cost and resource loaded programmes.

Previous experience in critical path analysis is essential including construction delivery, technical design, and financial risk. This information should then be utilised to establish key milestones within the project and communicate the same to the rest of the project management team.

A proactive approach will be required for progress monitoring including regular site inspections and update meetings with the Project Management teams for individual projects.

You will be responsible for continuing to grow the on-site Planning team, by employing Planners and Assistant Planners in the near future as the project pipeline continues to grow past 2023 and future projects start on site. 

Desirable Experience: 

• Demonstrable experience with live project planning on large construction projects, £20m+.
• 5-10 years+ experience with main contractors in pure planning roles, carrying out both pre and post contract planning duties.
• Strong track record on a range of new build construction projects.
• Good working knowledge of ASTA PowerProject.
• Previous Roles: Planning Manager OR Senior Planner OR Project Planner OR Construction Planner. 

Qualifications & Skills: Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or comparable qualification.
