Salary: £36,000 – £48,000 per year

Finance Manager 

We are a successful, well-established manufacturing SME seeking to strengthen its management team via this key appointment. 

Summary

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role will lead the finance function on a day-to-day basis and, in addition to undertaking the key duties below, the postholder will contribute to the growth of the business by providing insights into financial performance, and completing ad hoc project work. The role is permanent, full time and office based. Please note, hours of work are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 12.30pm on Fridays.  

Key Duties

• Maintain cashflow forecast and manage cash
• Prepare accurate management accounts on a timely basis
• Line manage and support Accounts Assistant in day-to-day accounting functions
• Enhance key business relationships with suppliers, debtors and other external bodies
• Liaise with external accountants in production of annual financial accounts
• Provide ad hoc financial information and analysis

Experience, Qualifications and skills

The successful candidate will offer:

• Excellent technical accounting knowledge and skills
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to challenge and question while maintaining positive relations with all
• Knowledge of Sage 50/200
• Strong Excel skills
• Knowledge of MRP systems and payroll functions
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment involving fluid reporting lines
• Experience of accounting within a manufacturing business preferred
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, or part qualified, or qualified by experience
