Finance Manager

The Finance Manager will be working for our client’s remote site support service operations supporting their operations in Iraq. Our client are a support service contractor who have a wide range of projects in across the Middle East and Africa, supporting military, mining and oil & gas contracts. The Finance Manager will be responsible for a range of financial responsibilities, including tax, administration, policy implementation, country strategy and team management.

This is a permanent position working on rotation (12 Weeks On / 3 Weeks Off) $60,000 pa / £42,480 pa.

RESPONSIBILITIES

-Prepares and submits various daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reports such as Management Accounts, quarterly review packs, budgets and plans, to the Financial Controller – Contract Services & Supply.
-Prompt supplier account management
-Make recommendations for continual improvement and support improvement initiatives the company undertakes.
-Preparation and filing of necessary returns/ documents or statements with the appropriate Government or such other authorities as may be required to be done from time to time, within the stipulated timeframes, without any delays.
-Remittance of Taxes to the Authorities, submission of Tax returns and getting Tax control done within time limits stipulated by the Local Statutes from time to time.
-Carry out Tax planning
-Follow the IMS Policy and meet the requirements of the organization’s Integrated Management System which is compliant to international standards for Quality (ISO 9001), Food Safety (ISO 22000), Occupational Health & Safety (OHSAS 18001), and Environmental Management System (ISO 14001).

To be considered for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate experience with the following:

-Minimum 4 years work experience in managing an accounting/finance function of small/medium sized service organization
-Exposure to Income Taxes and Customs Duty
-Company and Finance Divisional Policies, Procedures & Objectives
-Knowledge of Tax Laws or the ability to rapidly acquire the knowledge of Local Tax Laws
-Knowledge of OHADA/ IFRS financial reporting guidelines
-Good working knowledge in Accounting and ability to work unsupervised.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

-Bachelors Degree in Commerce & or Accounting
-Professional Qualification in accounting like CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA
