Assistant Accountant

Salary: £33,600 – £38,400 per year

I am partnered with a successful, family run business based in Coventry looking to add an Assistant Accountant into their finance team. The Assistant Accountant will be based out of the Coventry office 5 days per year, boasting a salary of up to £33,600 – £38,400+ study support and development opportunities. This is an exciting role with a lucrative business that has experienced consistent growth in it’s 50 year period and is expecting further expansion in the coming years.

This is a pivotal position within the finance team. Supporting the Management Accountant, you will be responsible for all ledger work up to preparing the management accounts. A hands on attitude is crucial; this is a supportive finance team and the successful candidate will have plenty of opportunity to take on new tasks and expand their knowledge, alongside studying for ACCA or CIMA.

Key responsibilities:

• A strong understanding of transactional accounts
• Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping
• Experience working with nominal ledgers, journals and reconcilations
• Preparing management accounts
• Monthly and weekly reporting
• VAT return

A bit about you:

• Experience with Sage 50 and SAP would be beneficial
• Knowledge of foreign currency transactions
• Experience working in a finance environment
• Keen to study and complete your ACCA or CIMA qualification (study package provided)
