The Company:
McIver Knight Associates are partnering with a business that manufacture specialist high voltage electrical products and supply globally. The company are now seeking to recruit a Multiskilled Product Engineer to focus on driving the Design, Validation and Development of their existing and new product ranges.
The Role:
This is a multi-skilled engineering role with a strong focus on electrical engineering, with you acting as a point of contact between customers, customer service, the commercial team and production to ensure that the company’s products are correctly designed and specified as necessary.
The role will also involve management of BOMs and the engineering change process for the product group. You will work closely with Process Engineering to validate design specifications and to assess capability for new products – and product development for new applications will also form part of the job.
Some travel to customers in the UK and overseas is expected (10% of time) and excellent communication skills are a necessary part of the role and this job would suit an experienced engineer with a background in power systems or electrical protection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Product Design
- Electrical testing and Specification of electrical tests of development products
- Mechanical Design (Solidworks)
- BOM Management and CI activities
- New Product Development and Applications
- Support with technical enquiries
You should be:
- An experienced engineer and problem solver
- Multiskilled with a strong focus toward Electrical
- Qualified to Degree/Masters/Higher in Electrical Engineering (or related subject) with a minimum Degree level qualification (or equivalent).
Ideal (but not essential) would be if you also had some experience with high voltage power systems or high voltage protection systems.

The company can offer a salary of circa £48,000 (this is flexible for the right individual) plus an annual bonus, 9% pension, life assurance, employee assistance programmes and more.
