3rd Line Wintel Engineer

Wintel Engineer | South East | up to £375/day

Jonothan Bosworth Recruitment Specialists are currently working on an exciting opportunity for our client; a global service provider.

We are looking for a 3rd Line Wintel Engineer to focus on the Wintel environment inside our client’s EMEA datacentres which include:

– Physical Servers (mix of Dell and HP, rack based and chassis)

– Virtual servers (VMWare 4.1 & 5.1)

– circa combined total of 1800 entities

– Windows Operating systems

– Mix of off-the-shelf and custom applications

– Microsoft SQL, IIS, HPC

– ITIL v3, VMWare VCP 4/5, MCP Server qualifications preferred

This job opportunity is primarily a BAU role with some project mix; with a focus on taking on the daily checks, monitoring, call management, alert and patch management from the team to allow them to focus on project work.

– The shift pattern will be either or all of 7am to 3pm, 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm, 10am to 6pm.

– A Saturday morning rota will be in operation, however my client may consider this to be remote working.

PRE-REQUISITES:

* Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with Windows Operations Systems
* Expertise with Windows Server 2008+

* Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008+
* Knowledge of Citrix XenApp

* Knowledge of VMware (vSphere)
* Advanced IT support and configuration of Active Directory, Exchange and IIS.
* Compellent SAN Storage
* Experience of networking such as TCP/IP & WAN optimisation
* Windows Azure Cloud
* Automated File transfer technology
* Reverse Proxy Technology
* Proactive, motivated approach to work
* Good communication skills
