Import Airfreight Clerk – Ashford, Middlesex

Responsibilities and skills needed are:

Good customer service experience ideally gained from a similar environment, some knowledge required of Customs procedures and regular import duties preferably.

Duties include:-

Operate start to finish Import procedures

Enter shipments for customs clearance through the ASM system as defined by the Airfreight & Ocean clearance procedure.

Maintain a high standard of customer service.

Maintain and update customer information on computer records, customer records and files.

To have an active role in resolving customer queries.

To handle non conformities and irregularities effectively and to refer any unresolved matters to the Import Supervisor.

Effective liaison with other departments.

Process daily quotations and ensure all enquiries from customers and overseas agents are responded to in an efficient manner.

Person Specification:-

Conversant with current industry standard requirements

Ability to demonstrate a flexible, hands on approach

Effective communicator with colleagues, clients and suppliers

Computer conversant in basic applications & Customs procedures

Conscientious & diligent approach to work

Hours 9.00 am to 5.30 pm Sunday – Thursday

Easily obtainable 5 years work history a must as the company has to obtain all references before employment can start.
