: Depot Operations Manager – Waste Management and Recycling

Salary: £56,400 – £61,200 plus Bonus, Excellent Pension, Laptop, Mobile

Location: Norfolk – Candidates will be considered from Kings Lynn, Bury St Edmunds, Norwich, Diss, Ipswich, Great Yarmouth, Lowestoft, Swaffham, Downham Market, Ipswich and the surrounding area.

Previous experience: Waste Management Depot Manager, Transport Operations Manager, Courier, Parcels, Multi drop, Collection and Delivery General Manager, Light Freight or Haulage or Distribution Manager, 3rd Party Logistics (3PL) Operations Manager, Waste Operations Manager

ROLE & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – Depot Operations Manager – Waste Management and Recycling

This role would suit someone who wants to work for a best in class organisation. Our client has just invested nearly £2 ½ million in new capital plant and infrastructure. They are completely dedicated to leading the field locally and indeed nationally in the fast moving waste and recycling sector.
You should be experienced leading a team from the front with 3-4 direct reports covering: transport, operations, sales, admin and maintenance

Able to forecast and prepare budgets as you will be required to maximise the profitability of the operation and implement strict cost controls

You will be responsible for the delivery of commercial strategy and allocation of resources
You will be responsible for 100+ staff and 30+ waste collection and recycling vehicles

You will deliver a motivated and engaged workforce and an effective service, managing all resources and staff at your disposal and working within the terms of the service levels agreed with the client
CPC in Road Transport either National or International is required

A proven track record in a Waste Management / Recycling / Distribution / Couriers / Parcels / Multi-drop / Light Haulage / Logistics / Warehousing environment

You will have a strong commercial understanding of the Waste Management industry or the industry that you work within and have evidence of overachieving budgets and KPI’s
Strong IT, communication and negotiation skills will be required

A team player and open communicator. You will work closely with the sales executive to develop sales and strong partnership agreements in the area operating a sales through service philosophy
Someone who understands the value of customer service as a key point of differentiation within the space

You will understand compliance and have built strong relationships with bodies such as the EA and HSE

You may also have experience working within ISO standards

Any COTC in waste management a plus

You MUST be committed to inspiring and enforcing a positive Health and Safety ethic within the team, ensuring the correct resources for a safe working environment are made available. IOSH and or NEBOSH are therefore desirable
